Oh that it should come to this. I say it on my most recent post on my new LJ as well so I won't say it here, but long story short is I'm back on LJ. If you've recently noticed that there is a mysterious person of the name 'custard seijin' that has friended you, well, it's me. I've friended most of the people on my flist, but I have dropped some people along the way... just the people I never comment on, who rarely comment on me... that kind of thing. No animosity, just doing some spring cleaning. If I've friended you on this new journal and you really don't want to friend me back, that's fine. There's no obligation, so. :)

So as of today (it's been in the works a bit so it's actually not as sudden as it seems, but) this journal has been reborn as the custard seijin. Hope to see you there. :)

Oh Mah God. Well, I guess the US already does it. Only a matter of time until Australia instigates it. The world is slowly going weird. It's becoming so xenophobic and fearful. I don't think I like it at all. And I understand the people's responses to this news, but the way they're responding just makes me shitty as well. Why is the world just full of shits recently?

Not that anyone would be wondering, but the internet at home is kind of dead at the moment. Since Friday morning, in fact. I only have internet access at the uni, so it's all kinds of fail. I had a quick skim of my e-mail and f-list just then, but I won't be replying to them... so ah, yeah, if there's anything important, please ring me or text me. That would be the best thing. *nods* And the stupid thing is that we don't know when out internet will be back. No guesses as to which internet provider we're with! *rolls eyes8*

So I learn via The Age in the Opinions section that the ERC at uni will be closed for redevelopment. Couldn't they have planned it at some time like, you know, when students WON'T be doing their end of year assessments? So conciderate! So conciderate!

In other news, I had a dream that the federal election was held over night and I missed it because I was asleep. I remember I used to have dreams of a bald and very-angry-red-in-the-face Mark Latham during the last election. Have not dreamt of Kevin Rudd yet, so perhaps this is a good thing.

Have been thinking of making new LJ/blog because this one is annoying me. I want to fix al my tags, half of them are kind of odd, want to add another batch, don't like the layout, all really cosmetic things, but it's really been bugging me! This has little with the rubbish that seems to be bothering fandom so much (a little though, since I don't like the idea of false advertising of donation-calls to charity). Have started to make the move.

Really slack-ass day. Spent most of the day drawing or doing file management on my computer. Now feel relatively purged enough to try and do some thesis work (after dinner).

Decided to dedicate energy to one particular creative project. The most basic of roots started back about two years ago, but there've been so many things I needed to work on, and then worrying about where I should divide my attention in terms of creative energy... figured I wouldn't go anywhere without committing to one project at a time, I've decided to work on this one. Which involves trying to find as many images of Shanghai as possible, which is actually a lot harder than one might imagine. It's really lame also how worn out I got with just doing like, hmm, three really rudimentary sketches? Har har. 8D

I always knew from the start that this place is green. A bit more of an apple green than The Matrix green, but it has nothing to do with computers. Need to sit on it more, but that's for another day. :)

Have been working on results section of the thesis. Really messy draft, but have about 2000 words, and easily another 500 coming. Looking good. But have been working on that pretty much whole afternoon so v. tired.

Procrastinated earlier by looking up stuff for ECC interview. Makes me think I'll miss my current work when the move comes. Some recent occurances in relation to work that makes me go 'awww':

1)Went to birthday dinner with work on Monday for belated birthday celebration. The guy who was working with us last year shares my birthday, so he came along too :D Nice chat about love (the lack thereof), life, the soccer and future plans.

2) A kid that's a slight handful and dyslectic came back from Bali and gave me a key ring. On par with the Christmas card with the candy cane I got from a girl who comes to the centre who shares the same name as me.

3) On my brisk (har har) morning walk, bumped into two siblings who come to centre on their way to school. Girl showed me the key rings on her bag she was telling me about yesterday.

And that brisk walk was even more awesome because of the ducks. Gosh they're funny. A bit early though, aren't they?

A shelf in the tiny, secret, SAGES (now SSEE) library. Stashed full of past Honours, Masters and PhD theses. I wonder how many hours worth are stashed here, how many tears and sweat worth of work is stashed here.

Went to the SAGES library to read some past theses at honours level. A bit hard when you don't know which thesis got what mark, but I found some that belong to current staff at the department, so those must be some good. The one I read about neo-shamanism was pretty neat. Cleared up a couple of things. Also had nice long chat with Lil about thesis, Japan, her potential honours year and many other things. Also had nice Florentine biccie. :D

Thesis... I may actually have a thesis. It kind of feels right. It's something that feels the most 'right' out of all the other ideas I've been tossing around. I promise myself that I'll actually write something a bit more comprehensive about it tomorrow as part of my draft. Half of it just seems to be an illogical fear of starting it, fearing that it'll not be good enough or just totally wrong and I'll be made to re-write it, and I'd feel that all that work was to no avail and gone to waste. So irrational and really unhelpful thinking in these circumstances, so it's just best that I'll start writing tomorrow.

Also, I was planning to be super elite and download some reading for tomorrow at the uni, because our internet is SO slow (probably my fault for AIM/MSN interviewing so much and streaming too much music from MySpace), but I'll do that tomorrow when it's the new month and our internet connection will be REVIVED. I only need to read three one to two pace length articles anyway. 8D So I'll go and draw and character-muse instead.
